‘The King’ rocks east end estate.
Elvis, the king of rock and roll, gave a one-off performance at a community fun day this weekend.
The fun day took place at the Exmouth Estate, Stepney, on Saturday 26 July and was organised by the estate’s residents board and Swan Housing Group which owns and manages the estate.
Around 400 local people attended the fun day which hosted a range of events including, music, Elvis, a raffle and free ice-cream.
Children also got into the festive spirit with face painting, balloons, art, design and computer games.
The day’s aim was to bring communities together to have fun.
The Resident Board is working to create a vibrant community and the fun day is part of that effort.
George Ferris, Chair of the estate residents board, said: “Our community is always fun loving and we would like to initiate more activities to improve community cohesion to make our estate a better place to live.”
Swan donated £1,200 to the residents’ board towards the fun day.
