Sunday Times Top 100 Best Not-For-Profit Companies To Work For in the UK

In February2016 we were identified as the 63rd "Best Not-For-Profit Company To Work For" by the Sunday Times Top 100 survey. On February 22 2017, we were thrilled to learn that we have retained our One Star rating and we await our ranking in the Top 100 table.


Sustainable Homes Index for Tomorrow (SHIFT) GOLD Award 

Swan Housing Group has been awarded 'GOLD' (the highest rating achieved by a Housing Association) in an audit conducted by SHIFT (Sustainable Homes Index for Tomorrow). The SHIFT audit is tailored specifically for housing associations and explores how the organisation actively promotes sustainability to staff and residents as well as reviewing Swan's impact on the environment and how this is being reduced.

HDN Accreditation

Diversity Network Accreditation 

Following an onsite assessment on 24 May 2016 we were delighted to confirm we had been awarded Housing Diversity Network Accreditation. This followed a detailed submission of our evidence against the key criteria.

We are regulated by the Care Quality Commission and comply with the Health and Social Care Act 2008 (Regulated Activities) and the Care Quality Commission Regulations 2009.

We are committed to the training of employees and have shown this by gaining the Investors in People Award, which supports our objectives of continuous improvement in staff development, training and communication.

Foyer Federation

Foyer Accreditation 

Our Foyers were already members of the Foyer Federation but in May 2016 we were delighted to confirm that the Foyer Team were successful in achieving The Foyer Federation's Status Mark which indicates that the focus, approach and relationship aspects of the service provided by Swan meets the high standards set by the Foyer Federation.

We recognise our responsibility to provide equality of opportunity, eliminate discrimination and promote good relations in our activities as an employer, landlord, contractor, partner, purchaser and as a member of local and regional partnerships. As a sign of our commitment, Swan has been accredited to the 'Disability Confident' scheme. The symbol is awarded by Jobcentre Plus to employers who have made commitments to employ, keep and develop the abilities of disabled staff.

Swan were found to be compliant against all 54 elements of the standard with three additional elements warranting a compliance plus rating. The report highlights Swan's strong partnerships, particularly with Axis, and the organisation's commitment to deliver high quality services to residents.

ISO 9001

Maintaining our ISO 9001 accreditation for our Quality Management System is a significant step towards our goal of being the "best in sector". ISO 9001 Certification is a recognised standard of quality assurance, and tells everyone, particularly our customers, that Swan is internationally recognised for having an excellent quality management system.

ISO 14001 Environmental Management System

Swan Housing Association is accredited to ISO 14001, which recognises that we have a robust Environmental Management System. We are committed to sustainable development and recognise that we are responsible for minimising the environmental impacts that arise from the delivery of our services and activities.
