Residents Consultation Day on Swan's strategic plan 2009-12 and Swan's value for money strategy
SWAN'S RESIDENTS CONFERENCE!
Over 50 residents attended our Residents Conference at the Holiday Inn in Basildon on Sat 29th March 2008. A coach brought residents from London, so it was fantastic to see so many residents join us for the day.
The theme of the day was ‘Neighbourhoods’ and Sandra Fawcett, Director of Housing (London) opened the conference by talking about Swan’s commitment to improving neighbourhoods and asking residents to help and be a greater part of our 'Striving for Excellence' agenda.
Residents worked in groups to tell us about the things that are important for them. Amanda Oakley, Regional Housing Manager (Essex) led the work on Anti-Social Behaviour and Jorgen Dyer, Head of Estate Services, led on Estate Services.
We had stalls on all key services – Repairs, Allocations and Lettings, Resident Involvement and Community Development, Regeneration, Estate Services and Welfare Benefits. After an excellent lunch there was a quiz and raffle for residents and a DVD on Estate Services was shown.
A number of residents came forward expressing an interest in joining the 'Resident Consultative Committees' and working closer with us.
