Diversity in the community

Dancers from the Eid and Diwali party Celebrating each others’ ways of life - Key for a cohesive community

Swan has taken the initiative of promoting cultural understanding to its residents by celebrating major community festivals.

As part of this, residents of Exmouth, Crossways and Eagling close are informed of and celebrate community festivals, including Ramadan, by having a fast breaking party in the month of October.Fireworks from the Eid and Diwali party

Residents are informed about the significance of Ramadan and the taking part in feedback sessions on "how to make a tolerant and cohesive community.”

 The comments received included:

  • Respect and listen to one another

Community estate party’s are attended by all levels of the community, representatives from local police, Council and other partnering agencies.

Traditional foods are served at these events and everyone, including those
