Supporting residents groups
Resident involvement and community development remain paramount to the activities of the Group. We have a central team dedicated to developing and implementing a wide range of methods to involve residents and get their views on the quality of service they receive.
The Group aims to continue to develop new ways of engaging with residents to get as wide a range of feedback as possible. Swan Housing facilitate and run meetings with Resident Board members, Resident Consultative Committee's, Resident Associations and Estate Resident Boards. We hold regular focus groups where we ask residents to have their say in improving Swans services.
How to become a Board Member:
- Become a board member
We believe that having residents at the highest level of management at Swan
helps us to make sure that we remain focused on the needs and wishes of our customers.
Being a Member of a Committee can give many people personal satisfaction and also opportunities
for career advancement which may not be available through their work.Swan are setting up new Regional Committees from April 2010 where 8 out of the 12 places on each Committee will be held by residents. The Governance structure is being amended so that we are governed by a Main Board (Swan Housing Association) and supported by 2 new Regional Committees in London and Essex to replace the current Swan London and Swan Essex Boards.
We feel that local residents are best placed to work with our independent Committee Members to drive
forward service improvements within our regions. If you would like to be considered as a member of one of the Regional Committees please contact the Resident Involvement & Community Development team on 01277 844242 or email Involvement@swan.org.uk
