How to Become a Board Member
Although the day to day work of the Association is carried out by the staff, the boards of management govern the association.
Swan Housing Group is made up of three Registered Social Landlords (RSLs) – Swan Housing Association, Swan (Essex) Housing Association and Swan (London) Housing Association (each of which is registered with the Housing Corporation)
Each of the three RSL Boards has 12 members and the membership of the Board reflects their work -
The Swan Housing Association Board is made up of professionals from various areas of the sector, everyone is a volunteer and brings a wide range of skills and experience to help make the best decisions for the Association and its residents. This board provides services and support to the other members of the Group (e.g. financial, human resources, IT etc.), but does not manage any stock directly.
The two subsidiary boards (Swan London & Swan Essex) are made up of twelve members, four of whom are residents. These Members bring a residents’ perspective to the work of the Board and complement the skills brought by the other Members.
