Allocations and Lettings
Swan Housing Group provides good quality affordable housing throughout Essex and East London. We offer a wide range of housing to help meet individual people’s needs.
Our homes include flats, maisonettes, houses and bungalows. As well as rented housing for general needs we also provide sheltered, supported, key worker and marketed rented accommodation and shared ownership (part buy/ part rent).
Our general needs accommodation is allocated either to those nominated to us by their local authority or to our existing tenants and household members. Local authorities usually have 100% nomination rights to all of our newly built properties and up to 75% on all relets. Those nominated to us by a local authority are usually selected by the housing department from people waiting on the local Housing Register, either as a direct applicant or through a choice based letting scheme or because the local authority has a duty to them under homeless legalisation.
If you would like to be considered for a property with Swan you should ensure you are registered with your local Council’s Housing Department. This also applies to existing Swan tenants.
If you are already a Swan tenant and wish to move you may wish to consider a mutual exchange. Swan are member of Homeswapper and existing Swan tenants can register free on www.homeswapper.co.uk.
