How to pay your Rent...
When you move in we will give you a Rent Payment Card. This is a plastic swipe card and you need it to pay by most of the methods below.
If you have a query about your rent payment, please contact your local housing team. It is important that everyone pays their rent on time, as this money pays for the services we provide you.
Rent is charged on a weekly basis and is due every Monday for the week ahead.
There are many ways to pay your rent including:
Over the internet (click here)
If you have access to the internet, and have a current email account and debit/credit card you can now pay your rent online via the Allpay system
Over the phone
You can pay over the phone using a debit or credit card by calling our offices and asking for 'Payments'. Payments will be authorised while you wait so you know that the payment has gone through. (Click on the phone logo for telephone numbers)
By text message - *NEW*
You can pay using your mobile phone. This method gives you the flexibility to pay rent 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. By Direct Debit
A direct debit is a payment we take direct from your bank or building society account each month. If you would like to pay by direct debit, ask for a form at your local office. It is the most convenient way to pay once you have set it up. The money goes straightaway, from your bank account and there is no danger you will forget to pay. We will let you know how much you need to pay each month. Payments need to be made monthly in advance so that your rent account does not go into arrears. You can chose to pay weekly or monthly and any working day of the week.
The advantages of opting to pay by direct debit are:
Direct debits are paid electronically, so they credit your rent account on the same day they can help you budget your weekly or monthly expenses.
- You don’t have to remember to make your rent payment weekly or monthly
- we will update your direct debit every year and let you know if anything changes
- No queues at the post office or paypoint shops to make payments
- No cheque to write and no postage to pay
- You can cancel the direct debit any time you want.
