Greater Haven Floating Support
Floating Support is a free service that is flexible to an individuals needs. The service provides a range of support to people regardless of their tenure. They could be residents of other housing associations, private landlords, homeowners and people who are in temporary accommodation.
The service focuses on a range of individuals with some of the following needs:
- Families who require support
- Young People
- Drug and Alcohol misuse
- Vulnerable adults within the community
- Mental Health
The aim of the service is to provide a support package that is individually to meet each persons needs and is outcome based to support them to achieve their maximum degree of independent living.
The service includes:
Ensuring that they are receiving the correct benefits they are entitled to- Empowering people to maintain their tenancy
- Debt Management
- Liaising with other professionals
- Benefit Advice and maximising income
- Socialising within the community
- Education and training
- Access to other local services within the community
- Assisting people who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless
The service provided is short term (up to 2 years - in certain circumstances) with a clear exit strategy. Once support needs have been met and agreed, the service will come to an end. However, if a person requires our service again, they can contact the team for advice.
The key components of the service required will include:
- A Gateway to provide access to the service and manage referrals
- A Holistic service to deliver short term floating support
- An Immediate Response service to provide housing support in a crisis situation.
The Gateway can be accessed by telephone, personal visit, online, text and enquiry cards.
