Get Involved
There are many ways for you to get involved. We encourage all of our residents and floating support clients at Swan to get involved where they can. This is an opportunity for you to discuss your support services and share your support experiences with other clients. The aim of involvement is simple; it is designed to put you in the driving seat, helping us at Swan to improve the services we provide.
We currently hold service user forums across several locations in Essex. So far we have developed forums in Harlow, Billericay, Maldon, Braintree, Clacton and Colchester. Examples of what has been discussed in the past include:-
- Communications at Swan- improving the Swan Life newsletters and other publications
- Service leaflet designs
- Partnership working with other agencies to help improve signposting information
- General improvements to support services
- Easy read guides to strategies and policies
- Ideas for annual events such as the Supported Housing Fun Day
- Ideas to help protect vulnerable adults receiving support
- Access to services in the community
- Ideas to help improve clients quality of life
If forums aren't for you, then you may want to share some of your service improvement ideas with your Support Worker or Supported Housing Officer. These will then be passed onto your Service User Involvement Officer.
You may wish to participate in surveys to provide us valuable feedback on the service you are receiving.
Alternatively you could take part in our focus groups that are arranged when we need to review a specific service area at Swan.
This is your chance to help shape your services at Swan! We look forward to having you on board!
If you have any questions about getting involved at Swan, please talk to your Service User Involvement Officer, Chris Mellor on 01277 314 950 or email involvement@swan.org.uk.
