Sheltered Housing
Swan offers sheltered housing to people over the age of 55 who are in need of housing and support. Help is on hand in an emergency via an emergency pull cord system.
Housing related support is provided by a warden service who can give advice and assistance with:
-
Advice on pensions and benefits and assistance with applying for these, eg completing forms
-
Assistance with accessing services in the community, eg , care services, library, social group
-
Staying healthy, eg accessing GP, dentist, optician, dietary advice.
-
Staying safe, eg personal safety and security
-
Maintaining independence in the community
The warden service does not provide personal care and will not handle money or give out medication. However, if you need assistance with this, the warden will help you access these services.
