Having joined Swan in January 2006 as a graduate trainee in the finance department I have worked in a variety of roles ranging from producing month-end journals for the management accounts team, to my current role which is more geared toward treasury accounting.
I am responsible for the money market placements and redemptions we make with the bank to ensure we have sufficient funds to pay contractors, architects and so on, on a daily basis.
To ensure that we have money in place to pay contractors and so forth I am required to liaise with our staff in development. The purpose of this is to ensue that the cashflow for their schemes is updated regularly and is a true reflection of Swan’s income and outgoings.
I have been involved in the company’s refinancing which involves providing our solicitors with relevant documents as evidence that Swan owns the propeties we provide to tenants. I have been working on the revaluation that we provide to Savills to provide collateral against our assets to ensure further funding is provided from our funders.
I feel fortunate to work for Swan as the company has a friendly atmosphere and aims to ensure that all employees needs are met. Swan has enabled me to study for CIMA accounting exams which will help me to progress within the organisation proving Swan values it’s employees and aims to provide opportunities for individual improvement. I am looking forward to the forthcoming years as a Swan employee.
