Sunday Times Top 100 + 25 Best Housing Associations To Work For 2020

Swan Housing Association celebrates after coming in at number ten in the Best 25 Housing Associations 2020. The list, published annually by 24 Housing Magazine, represents the 25 housing-sector organisations to work for in the UK. The rating cements Swan's position as a great place to work and follows the organisation's inclusion in the top 40 of the Sunday Times Top 100 list of the Best Not-for-Profit Organisations to Work For the fifth consecutive year.


UK Housing Awards 2019

The UK Housing Awards recognise and reward the very best in the UK housing sector. Swan Housing Association received Homebuilder of the Year (less than 1000 programme).


The Prospers - Essex Care Sector Award 2019

Swan Care and Support Services won the 'End of Life Care Award' at The Prospers - Essex Care Sector Awards. These awards celebrate excellence in Essex's care sector.


Housing Heroes Award 2019

John Synnock has achieved a lifelong career in housing - a real ambassador for the sector. This award is designed for those who have demonstrated a passion for housing over a long career in the sector. John has driven change both at Swan and also within the housing sector as a whole.


UK Construction Week Awards 2019

This award recognised Swan as a house builder that has consistently built exceptional housing over the last year. We demonstrated our ability to incorporate renewable energy and technology into our housing to deliver carbon neutral (or as close to) houses.


24 Housing Awards 2019

Pete Morley-Watts, Swan's Director of Care and Support scooped the 'Housing Professional of the Year' award at the prestigious 24 Housing Awards and the Housing Essex Excellence Awards. Pete has had a significant impact on the lives of many vulnerable people throughout his career. He is also dedicated to being the best manager he can and recently became a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Management.


Building Innovation Awards 2019 - Best Modular Development

Swan Housing Association was been awarded 'Best Modular Development' at the Building Innovation Awards. Our Beechwood West modular development is the development that scooped this award.


Building Innovation Awards 2019 - Most Innovative Developer

Swan Housing Association was awarded 'Most Innovative Developer' at the Building Innovation Awards for its ‘Uplan’ technology that allows homes to be created on an online tool sits at the forefront of this win.


Sunday Times Top 100 Best Not-For-Profit Companies To Work For in the UK

We were 33rd in the 2019 Sunday Times Top 100 Best Not-For-Profit Companies To Work For in the UK! And also in the Top 25 Housing Associations To Work For! In addition, we have now achieved a two star accreditation for outstanding levels of employee engagement.


Sustainable Homes Index for Tomorrow (SHIFT) SILVER Award

Swan Housing Group was awarded 'SILVER' in an audit conducted by SHIFT (Sustainable Homes Index for Tomorrow) demonstrating how the organisation actively promotes sustainability to staff and residents as well as reviewing its impact on the environment and how this is being reduced.


The Planning Awards 2018

We were winners in two categories the 2018 Planning Awards: The Award for Planning for Increased Housing Delivery for our Beechwood development and The Award for Stakeholder Engagement in Planning for our regeneration of Laindon Shopping Centre.


Inside Housing Development Awards 2017 - Best Approach to Modular Housing for Beechwood

Swan won the Best Approach to Modular Construction award at the Inside Housing Development Awards 2017. The judges were impressed by Swan's innovative approach, which has seen them invest £3m in opening their own factory in Basildon to build up to 400 high quality modular homes a year.


WhatHouse? Awards 2017 - Gold Award - Housing Association of the Year

Swan was proud to win Gold at the 2017 WhatHouse? Awards, being crowned Housing Association of the Year, with the Judges concluding that everything about Swan shouts 'ambition and innovation'.


Best Regeneration for Laindon Shopping Centre at the Housing Design Awards 2017

Swan and its architects Pollard Thomas Edwards and C.F. Møller were successful at the Housing Design Awards 2017, with judges awarding their plans for the regeneration of Laindon Shopping Centre the coveted 'Best Regeneration' award.
