John D Synnuck

Chief Executive

John has worked in the public and housing association sectors for over 50 years. He is a former Director of Housing for the London Borough of Southwark and Housing Services Director for West Kent Housing Association, the country's second ever large-scale voluntary transfer.  

John has led Swan Housing Association since it was formed in 1994, in which time Swan has grown from 2,000 homes to owning and managing over 11,500 homes in Essex and East London.  John is passionate about customer service and regenerating communities and, as a result, Swan is a leading regeneration agency with over 8,000 homes in its secured development pipeline.  

John is committed to Partnership working, ensuring Swan works with our Borough, GLA, Homes England and other partners to provide brilliant services to our customers and great places to call home.   In 2019 John was awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award at the Housing Heroes Awards.

Geoff Pearce

Deputy Chief Executive

Since joining Swan in 2014, Geoff has overseen the growth of Swan's regeneration and development programme, progressing long-standing major regeneration projects at Blackwall Reach and Beechwood and leading on many new regeneration projects including Purfleet-on-Thames, the Queensway estate in Southend- on-Sea and the Laindon Centre. Geoff has led Swan's in-house construction service to grow exponentially and now includes two innovative modular housing factories in Basildon. In 2020 Geoff was made Deputy Chief Executive, taking on additional responsibilities, including property services and strategic planning.    

Geoff is a Chartered Surveyor and a Board Member of Opportunity South Essex.

Malcolm O'Brien

Executive Director of Corporate Services

Malcolm has worked in the housing sector for over 10 years and in Human Resources for over 20 years. Malcolm previously worked as a Corporate Services Director and HR consultant in the housing sector. He has considerable experience in leading organisational development and employee engagement and has overall responsibility for the delivery of HR, Workplace and IT services across Swan.

Sue McBride

Executive Director of Governance and Compliance

Sue joined Swan as Director of Corporate Governance in March 2018. She has worked in the housing and banking sectors for over 20 years and has practiced as a Chartered Secretary for over 25 years. She was previously a consultant in the sector, working with a range of Registered Providers, including several G15 members. Sue has significant experience of corporate governance within the profit and not-for-profit sectors, working with diversified group structures. Sue is also the Group's Company Secretary and is responsible for ensuring governance compliance across the Group.

Pete Morley-Watts

Executive Director of Customer Experience

Pete Morley-Watts was appointed Executive Director of Customer Experience in June 2020.Named as UK Housing Professional of the Year, at the 24 Housing Awards 2019, Pete's passion for people, together with over 20 years' experience in the Housing Sector, make him ideally placed for this role.  Since joining Swan in 2014 as Director of Care and Support, Pete's teams have consistently delivered award winning domiciliary care services, accredited Foyer Services and a bespoke range of supported housing services throughout Essex and East London.

Pete will lead a review of customer experience across Swan with particular focus on operational customer facing departments: Neighbourhoods, Care and Support, Keyworker Living, Leasehold, Estate Services and Customer Services, to ensure that we meet our new corporate strategy objectives and enable Swan Group to offer exemplary services through every aspect of our work.

James King

Group Finance Director

James King joined Swan in 2012 as a Financial Controller to lead the management accounts team. His role has grown considerably over the last 8 years.  He was appointed the Group’s Finance Director in March 2020 and is responsible for all internal and external financial reporting as well as risk management. James is passionate about the Finance team adding value and promotes a collaborative business partnering approach to support all stakeholders.

James is a Chartered Management Accountant and prior to Swan, held a number of senior commercial finance roles in industries including Construction and Petrochemical Testing.
