Anti-social behaviour and hate crime

We want everyone to feel safe in their home and we believe everyone should be able to enjoy their home without being disturbed by those living nearby. From time to time, this may not be the case and we are committed to tackling issues related to anti-social behaviour, hate crimes, harassment and neighbour nuisance.
Anti-social behaviour can include a range of actions including; noise nuisance, such as loud music, dogs barking and shouting; to more serious acts such as threatening behaviour and hate crimes.
We take all incidents of anti-social behaviour seriously and will act to resolve any issues. If you need to report anti-social behaviour during office hours, please contact your Neighbourhood team, or your Supported Housing team.
We ask that residents are tolerant and mindful of their neighbours, especially in areas of high density living such as a block of flats.
We do recognise that some behaviour may have an impact on others however would not be classed anti-social behaviour. Examples of this include daily living noise, children playing in their homes or nearby at reasonable times, cooking smells and parking disputes. We would encourage neighbours to resolve minor disputes between themselves and where necessary we will provide the support of an independent mediator.

The Community Trigger
The Community Trigger (also known as the ASB Case Review) is a process that allows members of the community, or advocates on their behalf, to ask for a review of the responses to their complaints of anti-social behaviour. The Trigger should only be used if no action has been taken as a result of repeat reporting of ASB. This is used by all agencies investigating ASB cases.
The use of the Community Trigger does not interfere with your right to follow our internal complaints procedure. Both processes can run at the same time. The Trigger cannot be used to report general acts of crime, these should be reported to the police.
More detailed information on the process, which is administered by your Local Authority, following procedures set out in the Antisocial Behaviour, Crime and Policing Act 2014, including the threshold for and the ways to apply for a Trigger can all be found by accessing your local council’s website. Here you will find the site of "asbhelp" a national charity for victims of ASB, they provide links to most community trigger application pages for councils nationally. *Swan Housing Association cannot be accountable for the accuracy of this information.
