Sustainable Homes Index for Tomorrow (SHIFT) SILVER Award
Swan Housing Group has been awarded 'SILVER' in an audit conducted by SHIFT (Sustainable Homes Index for Tomorrow). The SHIFT audit is tailored specifically for housing associations and explores how the organisation actively promotes sustainability to staff and residents as well as reviewing Swan's impact on the environment and how this is being reduced.

We were thrilled to receive double success at the recent Planning Awards! Winners in two categories: The Award for Planning for Increased Housing Delivery for our Beechwood development and The Award for Stakeholder Engagement in Planning for our regeneration of Laindon Shopping Centre. We were thrilled to come 33rd this year in the Sunday Times Top 100 Best Not-For-Profit Companies To Work For in the UK! In addition, we have now achieved a 2 star accreditation for outstanding levels of employee engagement.
Inside Housing Development Awards 2017 - Best Approach to Modular Housing for Beechwood
Swan Housing Association has won the Best Approach to Modular Construction award at the Inside Housing Development Awards. The judges were impressed by Swan's innovative approach, which has seen them invest £3m in opening their own factory in Basildon to build up to 400 high quality modular homes a year. Read more here.
WhatHouse? Awards 2017 - Gold Award - Housing Association of the Year
Swan Housing Association were proud to win Gold at this year's prestigious WhatHouse? Awards, being crowned Housing Association of the Year, with the Judges concluding that everything about Swan shouts 'ambition and innovation'. This award (which Swan won Silver for in 2016) is significant as the Judges were looking at all aspects of a Housing Association's performance, such as design and build, value for money, management and marketing. They were also looking for innnovative solutions to assist buyers onto the home ownership ladder, or into rented accommodation, according to needs and status.
Best Scheme in Planning Award at the National Housing Awards 2017
Swan Housing Association and its architects Pollard Thomas Edwards and C.F. Møller were successful at the prestigious National Housing Awards, with judges awarding their plans for both the regeneration of Laindon Shopping Centre and the Craylands Estate in Basildon, with the coveted 'Best Scheme in Planning' award. Swan Group and its architects Pollard Thomas Edwards and C.F. Møller were successful at the Housing Design Awards, with judges awarding their plans for the regeneration of Laindon Shopping Centre the coveted 'Best Regeneration' award. Diversity Network Accreditation
Following an onsite assessment on 24 May 2016 we were delighted to confirm we had been awarded Housing Diversity Network Accreditation. This followed a detailed submission of our evidence against the key criteria.

Care Quality Commission (CQC)
We are regulated by the Care Quality Commission and comply with the Health and Social Care Act 2008 (Regulated Activities) and the Care Quality Commission Regulations 2009.
Investors In People
We are committed to the training of employees and have shown this by gaining the Investors in People Award, which supports our objectives of continuous improvement in staff development, training and communication.
Our Foyers were already members of the Foyer Federation but in May 2016 we were delighted to confirm that the Foyer Team were successful in achieving The Foyer Federation's Status Mark which indicates that the focus, approach and relationship aspects of the service provided by Swan meets the high standards set by the Foyer Federation.
Equality and Diversity
We recognise our responsibility to provide equality of opportunity, eliminate discrimination and promote good relations in our activities as an employer, landlord, contractor, partner, purchaser and as a member of local and regional partnerships. As a sign of our commitment, Swan has been accredited to the 'Disability Confident' scheme. The symbol is awarded by Jobcentre Plus to employers who have made commitments to employ, keep and develop the abilities of disabled staff.

As Stonewall Diversity Champions we create a workplace where LGBT staff can be themselves, driving performance, engagement and innovation. The programme is "An excellent framework for creating a workplace that enables LGBT staff to reach their full potential." Swan Housing Association is accredited to ISO 14001, which recognises that we have a robust Environmental Management System. We are committed to sustainable development and recognise that we are responsible for minimising the environmental impacts that arise from the delivery of our services and activities.
