Swan Housing Association updates its brand as it marks its 25th year

Swan Housing Association, one of the UK's leading housing associations, today reveals a brand new logo and strapline 'Somewhere to feel at home'. The new brand illustrates the company's commitment to building homes, not just houses, for those who need them and ensuring that those homes are part of vibrant and sustainable communities.

The brand refresh comes as the Association continues to deliver on its commitment to build a further 10,000 new homes across East London and Essex by 2027. A housing association with a difference, Swan is focussed on achieving the biggest social impact possible and creating balanced communities by specialising in social, affordable and private sale homes.

In November 2018 Swan was one of only eight housing associations in London to become a strategic partner to the Mayor of London's £490 million housing grant. Furthermore, last week, Swan and its partner Curo successfully secured a Strategic Partnership with Homes England and a grant allocation of £51.1m to build 1,067 new affordable homes by March 2024, in addition to their existing development plans. The programme will comprise a mix of homes available for social rent, affordable rent and shared ownership. The allocation was announced as part of Homes England's second wave of Strategic Partnerships and is one of only 23 announced to date.

John Synnuck, Swan's Chief Executive said:

Our focus has always been to deliver quality homes for everyone. With an ambitious and busy year ahead, we felt it was the right time to give our brand a refresh to ensure that as a social enterprise, where all profits made are reinvested in homes and services for our residents, our mission is better understood.

Over the coming months we will roll out a new intranet for our staff and a new website for our stakeholders as well as a brilliant new resident's portal, which will enable us to communicate better with our residents and stakeholders. We really wanted to make it clear that we aren't just about bricks and mortar, it's not about numbers of houses and apartments for Swan, as a housing association our aim is to create homes and communities where residents can feel at home, which our brand fully reflects."

Swan Housing Association currently works with nine boroughs across East London and Essex - Barking & Dagenham, Newham, Tower Hamlets, Waltham Forest, Basildon, Southend, Thurrock, Redbridge and Havering. As a Housing Association it owns and manages over 11,000 homes and its dedicated staff support residents personally and through community investment activities every day. It employs over 400 people across sites in East London and Essex.
