Christmas Kindness – Kay Martin from our Forest Gate Office

This year many of us have been personally inspired to deliver a small act of kindness. Housing Officer Kay Martin works in Swan’s Forest Gate team based in Newham. In her frontline role she is very aware of the devastating impact Covid-19 has had on so many families.

Kay decided to make a difference and visit a Foodbank to make a personal donation. Like most of us she is currently working from home and so she decided to support an organisation local to her. She said:

“I made contact with the Rukhsana Khan Foundation on Wednesday 2 December 2020 to find out find out what food items they needed as I wanted to help the local community where I know so many families are finding it difficult to feed their families - due to the direct financial impact of the pandemic”.

I delivered my donation to the Rukhsana Khan Foundation in Waltham Forest on 5 December 2020. I feel proud that I was able to play a small part in by donating a food parcel to the local community. It’s given me a huge sense of satisfaction knowing that at least one family will benefit from my food parcel.”
