Cornavirus - Update to Services inc Axis
Your safety and security and that of our staff is our main priority. To make sure we are looking after everyone in the safest possible way during the Coronavirus COVID-19 situation, we have made some changes to how we offer our services to you:
Our offices
All our offices are now closed to visitors. Unless there is an emergency situation we will not be holding face to face meetings but we're still here to help you online at www.swan.org.uk where you can also use Live Chat and, if you cannot find what you need online, you can call us on 0300 303 2500.
Our supported, care and NHS schemes
Our staff continue to support those living in our supported living, young persons, extra care, sheltered and NHS accommodation schemes and those for whom we provide care in their homes. However, we've put in arrangements in place in each case to ensure that we can support you in line with Government guidelines.
Our Repairs Service
In line with Government advice to limit social contact, Axis will now be carrying out emergency, urgent and essential repairs only. These are repairs such as:
- loss of heating and hot water
- leaks
- blockages
- loss of power
- security and boarding-up to secure a property
- repairs to preserve Health and Safety, such as trip hazard
Axis staff will not be visiting your home to carry out non-essential and non-urgent repairs and if you have an appointment already booked that isn't essential or urgent, Axis will be in touch to cancel it. They will restart these repairs as soon as the Government advice recommends this and appointments will be rescheduled at this point.
Many residents have already been in touch to ask for appointments to be cancelled as they themselves want to socially isolate in line with Government advice, which is, of course, the correct thing to do.
We are watching the situation closely but you should note that it may be necessary to move to carrying out only Emergency Repairs. We will do this if this is what Government guidance tells us is the best thing to do, or because Axis have to prioritise these repairs as they have a smaller team of operatives because of staff self -isolating because of Cornonavirus COVID-19.
Please continue to keep up-to-date with our response to the situation on our website and connect with us on Facebook and Twitter for the latest news.
The Axis team are still available to support you. However, they are receiving lots of calls so do bear with them as it might take longer to get through
