Swan's Housing Heroes
Swan Housing Association is delighted to have been shortlisted in two categories in the upcoming Housing Hero Awards. Swan's Supported Housing Team and Care and Support Team have been jointly shortlisted in the 'Support and care team of the year (over 7,000)' category and Anti-Social Behaviour Officer Shaun De Souza Brady has been shortlisted in the 'Inspirational colleague of the year' category.
The Housing Hero awards celebrate the dedicated teams and individuals whose work improves the lives of the people who live in our homes and communities. Swan's Supported Housing Team and the Care and Support Team look after some of the most vulnerable people in our communities. They work tirelessly to ensure 381 residents feel at home and every week the Care team help hundreds of people avoid hospital and remain in their home through their admissions avoidance and hospital discharge support programmes
The Award shortlist recognises how the teams both achieved record levels of customer satisfaction last year following a year long drive to engage fully with clients and really listen to everyone they support.
Anti-Social Behaviour Officer Shaun De Souza Brady has been shortlisted for his inspiring work tackling anti-social behaviour. He joined Swan in 2016 following a successful career in the Metropolitan Police and the Local Authority and manages a caseload of complex Anti-social Behaviour (ASB), Domestic Abuse and Hate Crime related cases across Essex.
The award shortlist recognises how he has had a direct impact on Swan's customer satisfaction figures with regards to ASB case handling and outcome. He has helped to drive these satisfaction figures up to 88% from 64%. Shaun is a true team player and the entire team look up to him. He has strengthened Swan's working relationship with local partnership agencies and chairs the Essex Multi-Agency Risk Assessment Conference.
Pete Morley-Watts, Swan's Interim Executive Director of Operations and Customer Experience said: "Swan are delighted to accept this shortlisted nomination for not one, but two 'Housing Hero' awards. Our colleagues work very hard to help improve the lives of our customers every single day by providing amazing care, supported housing and ASB services that can be relied on by our customers who need us the most. To have both an individual and a team recognised in this way is a fantastic achievement as they continue to focus on doing the best for our customers. We know that both nominees are fully deserving of this shortlist accolade and we wish them well for the 'Housing Hero' finals in October!"
