Maximising Our Talent - Linda Kirby

Our new corporate strategy launched late last year, highlighting a business aim - maximise our talent, but in truth this is something that has been part of our business culture since day one. We celebrate the milestones our employees reach, helping them along in their development to elevate their careers in many different ways.

Meet Linda Kirby, newly promoted to Head of Governance. Linda's journey began here at Swan more than ten years ago, initially filling a PA role on a three month temporary contract. Little did Linda know that she would still be here today, fully immersed, both living and breathing all things Swan! After the short term contract was up, Linda was offered a permanent role, having used those first three months as her time to shine. Studying while working, completing an Open University degree, Linda grew both personally and professionally! Fast forward five years and this is where Linda saw her passion come into play, applying for and successfully becoming a Compliance Officer.

Sue McBride, Executive Director of Governance and Compliance, has been an amazing lead in ensuring Linda has achieved nothing but her absolute full potential. Sue encouraged Linda to progress into her next role as Assistant Company Secretary and sponsored Linda as she continued to study, embarking on the ICSA Qualifying Programme.

Linda has achieved so much in her time at Swan, countless qualifications and completing various training programmes. From being involved in the formation of Vivo Support Ltd, the care and support side of our company, to being an ambassador for our internal programme on 'How to be Brilliant', to choose but a few.

Linda Kirby said “I have loved every second of my ten years at Swan and have always been encouraged by my incredible line managers to progress and develop.  I’m proud to work for such an amazing organisation that makes a difference to people’s lives every day.” 

With Linda’s knowledge of Governance and Compliance second to none, with her passion and drive, she now fulfils the role as Head of Governance. It doesn’t stop there, Linda's journey with Swan continues, watch this space…
